September 11th

Today is a day of mixed emotions for our family.  No one can forget the horror of what happened ten years ago.  Some people, however, may not know the connection our family has to September 11th.  Four years ago on this day, Jamie, Maddox, and I were sitting in the American Embassy in Guatemala City, observing moments of silence at the times the buildings fell.  We had received our pink slip and embassy appointment about a week before, and the only thing left was the interview at the embassy.  Then, Maddox would officially and legally be our baby.  We are somber today for all those whose families were destroyed ten years ago, and we thank God that he brought ours together on this day four years ago.
